Harold Naideau
Harold Naideau is a photographer, artist and educator based on Long Island, New York.
His commercial and advertising photography has included fashion, beauty, cosmetics and lingerie and has appeared in the world’s top fashion publications. . His photographs have graced the pages of VOGUE, TOWN & COUNRTY, MARIE CLAIRE, The New York Times Sunday Magazine. His fine art photography has been published in ARTFORUM and STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY magazines.
He lectures at colleges and universities on art history and photography and is involved with CANON’S Explorer’s of Light Lecture Series.
He is the current President of the Long Island chapter of A.S.M.P. (American Society of Media Photographers).
He has done portraits of David Bowie, Andy Warhol, Stevie Wonder, Mick Jagger, Catherine Deneuve, Gina Davis, Robin Williams and Kiss, the Mayors of New York as well as the citizens and inhabitants of the boroughs of New York. Currently his photography blends the traditional attributes of fine art photography with the state-of-the-art technologies of digital imaging and printing, utilizing a changing array of modern materials and processes.
His vision attempts to clarify a complex world, filled with disparate and conflicting imagery set amidst a changing, modern landscape stretching from the parched plains of Death Valley in Nevada to the parts and body shops of Jerome Avenue in the Bronx.
Through his photography we can gain a clearer insight into the continuous clash between nature and man’s technology.
Both his photography and his photographic techniques show us the melding of old and new.
